The History

La Rocca di Camporgiano

This charming historic residence, owned by the Guasparini family and now transformed into a charming multi-building hotel, is a perfect place for a stay, a wedding location, and events. In an enviable position in the heart of Garfagnana, it will allow you to plan excursions and visits to some of the most beautiful places in the area.
In 2020, work began on the regeneration of the complex to transform it today into a multi-building hotel and period residence.
We point out, the small museum, inside the main tower, set up thanks to the ceramic finds uncovered during the excavation campaigns carried out by the local archaeological group.

A thousand year history

In the ancient medieval village of Camporgiano, the ancient Estense Fortress towers on a rocky spur with its imposing mass. Majestic and fascinating with its towers and surrounding walls, it dominates the village and the entire Garfagnana valley.

Every morning, from 8 to 10, you can enjoy a wide variety of fresh and genuine excellences of our territory, in the sweet/savory buffet prepared especially for you: in winter, in the room in front of the wonderful fireplace and with the view of the valley, and in summer, outside in the yard under the pergola of the ancient vine. In our buffet, you will find a selection of local products: those from the dairy, those from the artisan village bakery (the various types of bread and focaccia), the delicious salami garfagnini, homemade jams, eggs, fresh fruit, and homemade cakes. We will surprise and fascinate you.

In our home restaurant, reserved only for guests of the hotel on reservation, you can enjoy an intimate and romantic dinner under the banner of the excellence of the territory and the recipes of Guasparini. Instead, for an anniversary, a private dinner, or an important occasion to be experienced in the name of charm and refinement, on request and in collaboration with Chef Alessandro Pineschi, we offer an external catering service.
